A 19-year-old man reported being approached by two men unknown to him near Harry Ramsden's in Old Steine at around 3.30am on Saturday, December 21. He was allegedly raped nearby Steine Lane shortly afterwards. The victim managed to seek help from a passer-by, who called police. Dramatic scenes as fire breaks out in first floor of house

West Sussex Fire and Rescue attended reports of a fire on the first floor in a house on Iveagh Close in Broadfield in Crawley at 10.39pm last night. When the fire crew arrived at the scene the fire was starting to spread to the roof space. Four fire engines were sent to deal with the incident and an aerial ladder platform. The incident happened in Sea Road, near the junction with Endwell Road in Bexhill, at about 7.20pm on December 11. It involved a black Vauxhall Meriva car and a pedestrian at the zebra crossing.
